Music Stuff

"Dude at the piano" sessions.

Well yesterday I went into the studio for a few hours, not enough time to give me a radio production collection of songs, but enough time to record the songs that I have been playing live for the last year.

As the title suggests, it essentially was just me sitting at a grand piano singing into a microphone. In that time I put recorded six of the songs that I have been playing, and now you can hear them, download them etc.

In no particular order the songs are

1. Forever Starts today (a soppy love ballad)
2. Wrong Girl (an upbeat piano rock/pop song about a snowboard instructor)
3. Jennifer MA 15+ (a grungy kind of piano tune. After hearing this song, most people ask if Jennifer is real and where can they meet her. Email me to find out the truth behind the song :) )
4. Where my heart wants to be (a pounding piano blues tune)
5. Sad and Lonely (a nice quiet/slow relective piece) and
6. Kelly (another boppy piano song)

So have a listen. Email me your thoughts, and thanks for listening.

Songwriter of the Month

This is pretty cool. This June, I got Songwriter of the month for my songwriting group Songsalive. Songsalive are based in Las Angeles, Sydney, Washington, Tamworth and a few other placed I think. To read the interview, click here.

Compositions

Not songs, but some interesting pieces I put together for my composition course at University.  The first piece is a jazzy little number called Going Quietly and is named so because it it sounds like someone sneaking into a room late in the evening. And then there's Edigowa a flute piece, named after the Japanese garden located at Gosford, NSW, Australia.

So if you have something to say like wow cool, drop me a line at glenn@glennstephens.com.au
